Is birth just another day?
Hi, I'm Georgia. I became a doula because I love birth and I'm enthusiastic about supporting families through it. Your baby's birthday is not just another day. Birth changes you, and how you're supported through it shapes how you carry this experience into motherhood.
I'm here to protect the memory of your birth and support your transition into parenthood. I do this through:
Grounded presence
I'm trained and comfortable with birth. I know the sights, sounds, and intensity are normal, and my grounded presence will help you trust that what's happening is normal for you too.
Hands-on comfort
I teach partners comfort techniques so you work as a team, but birth is long and partners need breaks too. I step in so they can rest and be present. I bring tools and have training in positioning and counterpressure.
Emotional support
I believe your experience giving birth matters. I make sure you're heard, help you understand your choices, and remind you of your strength when labor gets hard.
I work from a foundation of trust. I trust in your body's ability to birth and trust in your choices about how you want that to happen.
How I Support You
Two Prenatal Visits
We'll meet twice before your birth to get to know each other and prepare for labor. These sessions are hands-on! We'll practice breathing techniques, movement, and positioning. Birth partners are welcome and encouraged; we'll work on counterpressure and support techniques together.
Happy Birthday, Baby!
I'll be with you continuously from active labor through the first hours after birth. I provide hands-on comfort measures, help you change positions, keep you hydrated, and support you and your partner through each stage.
Postpartum Support
We'll meet in the weeks after birth to check in on how you're doing, physically and emotionally. We'll talk through your birth, answer questions about feeding, and support your adjustment to life with your baby.
Georgia McClorey has been a lifesaver, not only to me but to my son. Georgia provided a huge reassuring energy and support system during my PPD. I would question myself, but she made sure to always bring light into my darkness. She has always made sure I was heard, and understood my worries. Very respectful and non-judgmental. She has also provided a calm, patient, and understanding attitude towards my two-year old. She made time to make him feel safe and comfortable. To this day she understands what my son needs and is always ready to give. Georgia went above and beyond for both of us, she is family.
Georgia offered comfort, peace, and so much knowledge day and night during labor. She answered promptly when my water broke, and always encouraged me and my spouse. I would absolutely recommend her services to anyone having a baby!
Every family deserves support during birth, regardless of budget. I offer a sliding scale and am open to pro bono arrangements for those who need it. Let's talk — reach out and we'll find what works.
